I didn't watch the speech yet (I will soon), but all of the other segments were well worth the time....
ReplyDeleteHonestly? It pulls at my heartstrings so much that I consider focusing on environmental law.....
Shame on me for unsubscribing, or I'd have noticed sooner you were back! What happy news!
ReplyDelete:-)
Welcome back both of us. How are things, my friend?
ReplyDeleteHello Amy and Molly. I am well, thanks. I don't know if I am really "back" though. I didn't think anyone still came by this space and I was really just putting some stuff here for myself. I haven't been posting anything original, nor do I think I probably will anytime soon, and maybe never.... My life is good, it is full, and I really prefer to have most of it be away from screens. Peace to you, and thanks for stopping by.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to see you posting! :)
ReplyDeleteI can understand your conflicting thoughts on blogging - I'm probably in a similar place - I'm not blogging and not sure whether I want to return. I often entertain the idea to disconnect completely from the internet and escape away ...
I wondered about the A symbol and by chance clicked it -- I love it! if I return to blog I will add it too. Here in Australia we've had both Hitchens and Dawkins visiting in recent month which has been wonderful.
Gleaner,
ReplyDeleteGood to see you here again. I'm glad to read of your appreciation for Hitchens and Dawkins. :)
Were you aware that Hitches has recently been diagnosed with throat cancer? He had to cut short his book tour (for his new memoir "Hitch-22") here in the US to go home and undergo chemotherapy.
As for me and blogging, honestly I am really surprised so many have showed up again after all this time. I didn't know anyone still came by here at all. Right now I am really just using this space for my own purposes of occasionally cataloging quotes, videos, etc., that are important to me. I'm not presently doing any "original" writing. I'm not sure if I will resume more active blogging again or not. I can tell you that my life is full at present and I have not the time to blog as I did once upon a time.
I did know about the devastating news re Hitch - I hope that he recovers fully - it is ironic that a man who has supreme qualities in advancing humanity through the use of his voice should be suffering from throat cancer. Although his written words are just as good, I am reading his memoir at the moment.
ReplyDeleteHmm, my life is still about paring back...like some of the poems you posted eg. the Hostetler and Squadra poems which resonated strongly with me. So with these poems and of course your introduction to Abbey and Berry to sit with my Thoreauvian ideals, your blog won't be forgotten by me.
Well gleaner, I'm cheering for you. It sounds like you are engaged in a worthy pursuit there.
ReplyDeleteCheers.
